Le Tour Fondue to Antheor Plage

I've been enjoying myself so much that I've not taken many pictures on the itouch.
Le Tour Fondue is opposite a marine conservation area and it is a big dive centre. We were tempted to have a dive, but decided we needed to buy a mask and snorkel as ours were left at home in the loft. We didn't even consider packing them.

This is the best picture I have, but it shows that we have had the hammock up too.
Them we went to Ramatuelle which is on Pampalone beach by St Tropez. This was a mile or so of sand with private beaches, we found a lovely spot and went for a swim. The Aire here was ideally situated, but far too hot and no shade.

The coastline is stunning and the colour of the sea is hard to capture.

St Tropez was nothing like I expected, it was much smaller and very olde worlde with little cobbled streets and great restaurants. That is once you could see them hidden behind all the super yachts.

I loved it here and could have stayed a few extra days.
We then continued along the coast to stay near Antibes and then Villeneuve-Loubet Plage near Nice. We had big plans of driving to Monaco, but it is now far too busy and too hot.
We drove back trough Cannes and snapped a picture of the red carpet, but we are too high for most of the car parks. So we found a superb campsite a stones throw from the beach. It is just under the viaduct at Antheor.

This part of the coast is particularly stunning due to the red volcanic rock and the water is so clear that when snorkelling it was as good as some of the Caribbean dives I have done in the past.

Currently sat in a McDonalds waiting for a spoke on Tim's bike to be fixed!

  6. Hi, just caught up on reading your blog and now am thoroughly depressed whilst looking at the rain through the window, it has brought back many happy memories of holidays in the south of France and Antibes is one of my fave places. Did you go to the Picasso museum overlooking the sea? You couldn't have picked a better time to escape blightly, somebody has forgotten to tell us it's summer here!!
